Phosphor Band Shifts

The items listed here include phosphor band shifts and band omitted varieties. All unmounted mint items are fine and free of faults. There are many isues where broad band varieties are listed and the position of the broad band can vary e.g left, right, centre, left of centre etc. Some positions are scarcer than others. In order to clarify the position on the items offered the position of the band(s) have been superimposed on many of the images. The band superimposition has been applied by manipulating the computer image and not by interfering with the stamp.

A fine UM marginal block with most unusual and scarce phosphor error. As well as all normal phosphor bands the upper 2 stamps have an additional 2 complete bands running horizontally across stamps and margin. This variety is listed in the "Woodstock" catalogue as "criss cross" phosphor (viii). Image has position of bands superimposed.
